SIM Architects has been involved in more than 40 spiritual projects in the Bay Area ranging from new ground-up construction, full campus master planning services, to major renovations. In each spiritual project, we show our understanding of sacred spaces through our use of symbolism, light, and materiality. We believe achieving a sense of permanence, verticality, and iconography are some important factors in designing high-quality sacred spaces.
We are currently working on the ambitious Our Lady of La Vang (OLLV) Capital Project in San Jose, California. This project aims to become a new beacon of hope for the OLLV Parish that was displaced when the old church was damaged in a fire in 2012.
