This residence in Atherton, California involved an extensive interior remodel that turned the kitchen into the central focus of the house. Folding wall planes with horizontal cuts near the ceiling envelopes the central kitchen. This move acted to visually separate the dining area and the living room area while allowing the pleasant aromas of cooking to permeate through the horizontal slices at the ceiling.
